Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does a session take?
The length of time for stretch mark and scar treatments at inkMed Skin Studio will vary depending on various factors such as the size and severity of the area being treated, the extent of the damage, and the type of treatment being utilized. Generally, clients can expect these treatments to take around 45 minutes to 2 hours per session.
  • Does it hurt?
We understand that every individual's pain threshold differs. However, we make every effort to minimize any discomfort during our stretch mark and scar treatments. Stretch mark and scar treatments overall involve minimal discomfort and require little to no downtime.
  • Can I have a treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
As a precaution, we advise against receiving any treatments while pregnant or breastfeeding. Our team is always happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the safety of our treatments, and we encourage you to discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider as well.
  • Can I get a treatment if I have a tan or use a sunbed?
If you are having an inkless session, you can have a tan since we are not matching skin tones. We do recommend you avoid direct sun exposure or using a sunbed after treatment while healing. If you are getting camouflage treatment, we ask for no tan or sunbed use. During your treatment we are matching ink to your natural skin tone. We understand the importance of achieving natural-looking results and take great care to ensure that the color of the camouflage pigment blends seamlessly with your skin.
  • How long before I see results?
Our scar and stretch mark treatments are designed to target your specific needs and goals. The time it takes to see noticeable improvements in the appearance of scars or stretch marks depends on various factors, such as the severity and the location. While individual results vary, you can typically begin to see initial improvements within 30 days of your treatment. However, complete healing may take longer depending on the severity of your scars or stretch marks.
  • What happens when I tan after having camouflage treatment?
At inkMED Skin Studio, our camouflaging process involves using skin-toned ink tattoo to match the color of your skin. This process involves a tattooing technique that blends the surrounding skin with the stretch marks or scars, resulting in a less noticeable appearance. It's important to note that the ink in your camouflaged stretch marks and scars will not change color if you tan. Instead, your skin’s overtone will darken, but your stretch marks will remain the same color as your natural skin-toned ink tattoo. So, your stretch marks will still be camouflaged because the “white” is no longer there. Which makes it a less obvious contrast.
  • How many sessions will I need and how long will the results last?
For both inkless and camouflage treatments it may take 2-3 session for the full desired results. For ink camouflage you may or may not need a touch up after 5-6 years. Remember, a stretch mark is a scar, and we are dealing with compromised skin. In addition, as we age, all tattoos transition and change on our skin because there is less elasticity and melanin production. This can affect your stretch mark camouflage tattoo, as well. For inkless treatments the results are permeant since it works by stimulating the natural production of collagen in the skin. With proper aftercare, such as avoiding direct sun exposure and maintaining a healthy diet and exercise routine, the results from our inkless and or camouflage treatments can improve the area by 30-90%. However, additional sessions may be necessary to maintain optimal results.
